Management of Pre-School: Committee

Kilnsea Pre-School is managed by a committee consisting of parents working on a voluntary basis. The committee consists of the following roles:

Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary as the officers.

Health & Safety, Publicity and Fundraisers.

Our current officers Nicola Jordan (Chairperson) Sarah Hurry (Treasurer) and Jennifer Scott (Secretary).

Being a member of the committee is an ideal opportunity to use work related skills, in a voluntary capacity, with a group of like-minded adults.  It is also an excellent way to be more involved with the education of our children.  Committee members are elected by the parents of the children attending Kilnsea Pre-School at the Annual General Meeting which is held annually and open to all parents.

Parental Involvement

We recognise parents as the most important educators of their children and we are committed to working in partnership with parents at every opportunity. There are many ways in which parents can take part in making Kilnsea Pre-School a welcoming and stimulating place, such as:
• Exchanging knowledge with the staff about their children’s needs and interests
• Sharing any special skills and interests
• Voluntary parent rota days – where you can help in session and also see your child’s progression first hand
• Fundraising activities and social events – eg sponsored treasure hunt and obstacle course, Christmas Show and raffle, Teddy Bear’s Picnic, Pantomime visit, Summer Outing, Portrait Photograph opportunity etc.

We like the family and friends of our children to be involved and we value your ideas and help in whatever way you can give it. Any ideas and help with music, stories, cooking, sewing and fundraising etc, would be most welcome.

The committee organises vital fundraising activities throughout the year to supplement the continuing development of our facilities. We ask all parents to give these activities their full support.
